The movie, written by Mark Millar (Marvel's Civil War, DC's Superman: Red Son, Wanted) and directed by Matthew Vaughn (Layer Cake, Stardust) is based on the comic book of the same name. It tells the story of a fanboy who makes it his mission to become a real superhero in real life even if he lacks superpowers. The series is awesome and somewhat refreshing since it references fanboyism in a non-insulting manner.
The consequences of being a "superhero" in reality are brutal, and Kick-Ass is a prime example of what would happen if individuals take the mantle of vigilantes. The movie debuts in April 2010, right before the summer season.
